We encourage our teams to keep this in mind whenever they are at work, we ask ourselves ‘will what I’m doing now impress our guests’ and if not how can I do it better?

POSITIVE ON COST

We are always working toward reducing waste and lessening our impact on the environment. Often it’s little things like swapping to paper straws. Sometimes they are bigger; for example recently we reduced our CO2 emissions by around 18,000 tonnes per year by introducing a food waste collection scheme as a result of a study completed by one of the team.

PASSIONATE ABOUT OUR PEOPLE

We understand that without our teams we can’t look after our guests, with this in mind we focus on developing their skills through tailored training. We work hard to give some work life balance and encourage personal development. Our belief that attitude counts for a lot means we employ people not just skills, sometimes this means a little more training is required but the results are often wonderful.

PART OF THE LOCAL COMMUNITY

We encourage our hotels to be part of their community, we support local charities and participate in the things that matter to local people. As part of their training team members learn about the local area and what it has to offer; they are proud to be able to direct guests to interesting places.

We go the extra mile by trying to always put ourselves in the guests’ shoes and wonder how would I feel? A great example of this was a team member who during a classic car rally regularly let owners jump start their beautiful cars from their own so they could get off on time and enjoy the event.
